Dry Run Studio, with the support of the Body of Water directors, researchers, students, and student interns, is developing community engagement projects and installations to offer another pathway to connect the community to the important ideas and research presented by this uniquely devised performance work. 

Bridge "players" will engage in workshops, performances, and other community engagement projects and installations to create, grow and build conversations through art practice. 

Body of Water

Jodi Enos-Berlage, a biology professor who conducts water quality research, and Jane Hawley, a dance professor who utilizes dance as an art form to communicate and express ideas, are collaborating to create Body of Water, an interdisciplinary performance that merges research from the sciences and the arts. Research students in dance and biology alike are critical contributors to this project and process.

Dance and video play key roles in this performance communicating the essentialness of water, the challenges we face concerning water quality and availability including local water challenges, both urban and agricultural, and potential solutions.

Body of Water was performed in March 2015, at Luther College, Jewel Theatre. More details on the performance here. Body of Water will also be performed June 6th, 2015, in Grinnell, Iowa as part of Grinnell College Summerfest. See their website for more information.
